John Abramson Talks About Big Pharma's Role in the Opioid Crisis on the Joe Rogan Experience

The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast recently interviewed John Abramson, who talked about the big role that Big Pharma plays in the opioid crisis.

Dr. John Abramson, MD, a primary physician and author of the book Overdosed America: The Broken Promise of American Medicine, on Dec. 30, spoke with Podcaster Joe Rogan and highlighted the role that Big Pharma plays in the opioid crisis. A sensitive topic many if not most families across the United States have someone in the family or close afflicted with opioid substance use disorder (SUD). Huge lawsuits with recent settlements many argue don’t cover even a slight fraction of the damages done by this epidemic. With socio-economic costs of COVID-19 raging—including a government actively promoting tension and divisiveness between the vaccinated and unvaccinated, behavioral and mental health problems only accumulate while dependence on opioids, despite all the campaigns to counter, only grows. How does America get out of this addictive-driven downward spiral?

The episode is featured on The Joe Rogan Experience and comes after the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released a report in early December showing that drug overdose deaths increased just shy of 30% in a year, surpassing 100,000 deaths. Opioids account for 75% of all drug overdose deaths.
